Sue B. Dance Company is designed to assist the growing dancer achieve their dance potential.
 Since inception, The Company has prospered through generosity and support from the community and staff who have volunteered their services for minimal compensation. The Company has sought and received a number of tax-deductible donations, both individual and business, that has allowed the school to provide enrichment programs to many young people in the community.
Sue B. Dance Company is a derivative of a very successful family dance company established in Los Angeles in 1960. Owner and Director Sue Black established her own dance company in Pasadena in 1992. The Company was established to meet the needs of young individuals in the Pasadena/Altadena community and has been instrumental in assisting those with aspirations of becoming performers. Through its dance programs, Sue B. Dance Company has positively affected the self-confidence, cultural connectedness and social awareness of its participating youth. The Company is famous for its annual recitals, which brings the diverse communities of Los Angeles County together to observe the creative development and progress of its youth.
The young members of The Company work under the direction of accredited professional instructors and trained assistants. Their programming includes a wealth of experiences, drawn from a broad range of professional artists, who provide the students with positive role models.
Sue B. Dance Company currently provides a dance curriculum that includes Tap, Ballet, Ballet for Boys, Jazz, Modern, Creative Movement, Hip Hop and Musical Theater. Classes are conducted six days a week during the day and evenings. A professional staff of instructors and assistants provide the necessary expertise and encouragement needed to thrive as a viable center for artistic achievements.
